Open up the Top 3 items and go and look at the Sales Rank. You want them to be under 10,000 – Score 4 points


Do each of the first three items have less 400 reviews ?

You are looking for easy access into the marketplace

The market has multiple keywordsScore 5 points
You want to find ways of ranking your product really well so you can get organic search traffic.
Rank your product using multiple different keywords that others haven’t been able to get.

Are All of the sponsored Pay per Click ad spots being used ? – Score 1 point
If Yes it tells you it’s a good market.

The market would be viable in multiple Amazon international markets – Score 5 points
Can you sell say not only in Australia but say also the USA, NZ, UK etc

Is there a Knowledgeable seller in top 3 listings ? (Good pictures, copy and description) – Score 4 points

Have a look at what other things were purchased with the product. Differentiate yourself in the marketplace.

Is the Product durable and unlikely to break in shipping ? – Score 6 points
Hugely important. – Easy to ship.

Product won’t need an instruction manual to use, its use is intuitive – Score 3 points
I.e. You open the box and know exactly what to do with the product.

The product leads to reorders or subscriptions – Score 5 points
Is there recurring ordering ? An ongoing revenue stream ?

Does the item lead to purchases for gift items vs just purchases for the buyer ? – Score 3 points
Would they buy not only for themselves but also for their friends, family etc.

The product is not a commodity and not easily purchased at local store – Score 2 points
